(Nori Kelley)

(a, b & c adapted from Song Of Solomon)

a) Arise

Arise my darling, my beautiful one
And come away
Behold the winter is past
And the rain is over and gone
The flowers have already appeared on the land
The time has come for pruning the vines
And the voice of the turtledove
Has been heard in our land
The fig tree has ripened its figs
And the vines in blossom
Have given forth their fragrance
Arise my darling, my beautiful one
And come away...

b) Together

Kiss me with the kisses of your mouth
For your love is better than wine
Draw me after you and let us run

His locks black as a raven
His eyes are like doves
He brought me to his banquet hall
His banner over me is love
This is my beloved and this is my friend
So is my beloved
Among the young men

c) Set Me As A Seal

Set me as a seal over your heart
Set me as a seal over your heart
For love is as strong as death
Its flashes are flashes of fire
Set me as a seal over your heart
Set me as a seal over your heart

I found him whom my soul loves
I held on and would not let go
Many waters cannot quench my love
Nor will rivers overflow

d) I Give My Love To You

Coming together to be as one
I will cherish this moment in time
I give my love to you
Smiling brighter than the morning sun
With eyes that sparkle and shine
I give my love to you

Of the trees that bud and blossom everywhere
You're the apple of my eye
Of all the stars hanging in the air
You're the one that lights the sky

Everything I am I will give to you
As together our hearts entwine
I give my love to you
What a joy to realize a dream come true
Just to know that you are mine
I give my love to you

Brighter and brighter our path will grow
From the dawn to the full day
I give my love to you
As we follow the light this one thing I know
Our God will lead the way
I give my love to you

The Wedding Suite was begun many years ago, 1977 to be exact. It is much more to me than wedding music - it's the interaction between Christ and His own bride, the church, especially as we draw nearer and nearer to the "full day." Jesus draws us out of religiosity to the wilderness, where we find nothing but Him. There, we are betrothed to Him, and we follow...basically the same message is continued in the next song, "Out Of Egypt."

Musically, this piece was probably influenced more by the group Renaissance than anyone else.
